President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed DIG Hashimu Argungu (Rtd) as the new Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC), replacing Solomon Arase.
This was announced on Monday by presidential spokesman Ajuri Ngelale. The President has also appointed Chief Onyemuche Nnamani as Secretary and DIG Taiwo Lakanu (Rtd) as a Member of the Commission. These appointments are subject to Senate confirmation, with further members to be announced later.
Additionally, Mr. Mohammed Sheidu has been appointed as the Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Police Trust Fund (NPTF) with immediate effect. President Tinubu expects these appointees to demonstrate integrity, diligence, and patriotic zeal in their roles for the benefit of the Nigeria Police and the nation.
