The Kano State Police Command has committed to enforcing Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s ban on all protests, stating that violators will be arrested and prosecuted.

Spokesperson Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa announced that armed officers have been stationed at critical points within and around the city to address any breaches and unforeseen incidents. He added, “The Police Command has placed its fully equipped and motivated personnel on ‘red alert’ to deal firmly with any security threats in the state.”

Commissioner of Police Mohammed Usaini Gumel appealed to law-abiding citizens to remain patriotic, follow the Kano State Government’s directive, stay calm, and avoid unlawful activities that could incite violence.

He also noted that joint security forces have been deployed to strategic locations to ensure peace and order throughout the state.

The Police Command reminded the public that the law is unequivocal: anyone disrupting peace in the state will be arrested and prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
