Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima underscored the imperative of unity and concerted action among North-East governors to confront the pressing challenges affecting the subregion.
He commended the governors for their solidarity, shared vision, and steadfast commitment to regional advancement during the unveiling of the newly reconstructed and modernized Government House in Bauchi.
Shettima lauded the governors for their cohesion in striving to rejuvenate the North-East. He stressed the significance of harmony and cooperation, urging them to unite as a cohesive front to address the formidable obstacles confronting their region.
While inaugurating the Government House, Shettima praised Governor Bala Mohammed for initiating the project despite financial constraints. He implored North-East governors to prioritize infrastructure and economic development endeavors as part of their joint endeavor to establish enduring legacies in their respective states.
Shettima emphasized the importance of fostering conducive work environments for effective leadership, facilitating the implementation of impactful policies and programs. He urged leaders to prioritize developmental projects to bridge infrastructure gaps and propel progress in their states.
Governor Bala Mohammed elucidated that the former Government House suffered from spatial limitations and operational challenges, prompting the decision to reconstruct it under his administration’s urban renewal agenda. He underscored the realization of his longstanding aspiration to provide the state with a modern seat of government since his election in 2019.
The occasion coincided with the 10th meeting of the North-East Governor’s Forum, attended by governors from the region, former state governors, members of the National Assembly, and local emirs, among other dignitaries.
