President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to bolstering the energy sector’s investment landscape and ensuring a conducive environment for investors.
According to the statement realeased by the Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity Chief Ajuri Ngelale on Wednesday May 15, during the virtual inauguration at the State House,
President Tinubu unveiled three pivotal projects: the expanded AHL Gas Processing Plant, the ANOH Gas Processing Plant, and the 23.3km ANOH to Obiafu-Obrikom-Oben (OB3) Custody Transfer Metering Station Gas Pipeline.
He assured citizens of heightened efforts to coordinate other significant projects, aiming for the earliest realization of gas-driven prosperity in the nation.
These initiatives, President Tinubu emphasized, align with the Decade of Gas Initiative and his government’s broader vision to optimize Nigeria’s abundant gas resources, curtail gas flaring, and catalyze industrial growth.
Highlighting the projects’ importance, President Tinubu underscored their potential to substantially augment gas supply to the domestic market, thereby supporting key sectors like power and industry, and fostering overall economic growth.
He commended NNPC Limited and its partners, Sterling Oil Exploration & Energy Production Company Limited (SEEPCO) and Seplat Energy Plc, for their commendable collaboration in executing these projects.
Moreover, President Tinubu reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to leveraging Nigeria’s immense gas potential for economic advancement. He cited ongoing initiatives such as the Presidential CNG initiative and the implementation of Presidential Directives aimed at incentivizing gas development.
Encouraging all stakeholders to embrace the inauguration theme, ‘From Gas to Prosperity; Renewed Hope,’ he called for intensified efforts to accelerate investment and project development in the gas sector.
