The Corporate Affairs Commission is actively exploring the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to streamline the company registration process, aligning with global standards.
Hussaini Ishaq Magaji, the Registrar-General and CEO of the Commission, articulated this strategy during a meeting with Khalil Suleiman Halilu, the Executive Vice Chairman/CEO of NASENI, held in Abuja.
Magaji underscored the Commission’s progress in operational efficiency since October 2023 and emphasized the crucial role of technology-driven solutions. He stressed the necessity of forging partnerships to realize the objective of achieving company registrations within minutes using AI. Magaji highlighted NASENI’s potential contribution to this initiative, given its track record in developing technological solutions, particularly in solar energy.
In response, Halilu outlined NASENI’s plans to implement an energy solution covering its facilities and extending support to the CAC. He expressed concerns about private technology companies exploiting government agencies by selling unnecessary products and assured that NASENI would offer cost-effective alternative solutions of high durability.
Bashir Aliyu, S.A. ICT to the NASENI boss, disclosed collaborative efforts with NITDA, the National Centre for AI Robotics, and the Federal Ministry of Communications and Data Economy to enhance AI capacity.
However, NASENI recently unveiled a range of locally manufactured products, including laptops, smartphones, lithium batteries, and solar street lamps. Halilu reiterated the agency’s commitment to expedite technology transfer and commercialization of its R&D products to spur job creation, wealth generation, and reduce reliance on imports.
According to Bashir Aliyu, NASENI adheres steadfastly to its 3Cs principles of Creation, Collaboration, and Commercialization, forging alliances with both public and private sector entities to bring research innovations to fruition in the market.
