Leandro Trossard’s decisive goal secured a crucial victory for Arsenal at Old Trafford, catapulting them back to the summit of the Premier League.

With their eyes set on the title, Arsenal now eagerly anticipates Manchester City’s clash with Tottenham on Tuesday, hoping for a stumble from the defending champions to bolster their championship aspirations, which haven’t been realized in two decades.

Facing the daunting task at Old Trafford, Arsenal entered the fray with a clear mission: victory or nothing. Their determination was palpable from the first whistle, and it bore fruit in the 20th minute when Kai Havertz delivered a pinpoint cross, allowing Leandro Trossard to calmly slot the ball into an empty net.

Buoyed by their early breakthrough, Arsenal pressed forward relentlessly. Ben White came agonizingly close to doubling their lead with a fierce effort from distance, narrowly missing the target just nine minutes later. In the 77th minute, Alejandro Garnacho squandered a gilt-edged chance as his shot veered wide of the left post, denying Arsenal a comfortable cushion.

Undeterred, Arsenal continued to threaten, with Gabriel Martinelli unleashing a thunderous strike in the 79th minute, only to be thwarted by a spectacular save from Andre Onana.

Despite Arsenal’s dominance, Manchester United refused to go quietly. In the 83rd minute, Declan Rice seized an opportunity to pull one back, unleashing a powerful shot from outside the box. However, Arsenal’s goalkeeper produced a moment of brilliance, diving low to parry the ball away, preserving Arsenal’s hard-fought lead and securing a vital three points in their pursuit of Premier League glory.
