Lagos Police Arrest 50 After Clash in Ile-Epo Area

The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of around 50 individuals following a clash in the Ile-Epo area of the state.

According to reports, the altercation erupted among hoodlums in the market situated in the Ile-Epo area, beginning on Wednesday night and extending into Thursday morning. The hoodlums allegedly set fire to the market, destroying goods and other valuable items.

However, the Lagos Command, through its spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, has stated that normalcy has been restored to the area. Hundeyin mentioned, “Over fifty suspects have been apprehended, and their makeshift shelters have been demolished, effectively dispersing them.” The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Adegoke Fayoade, has ordered the swift prosecution of the arrested individuals and warned that the Command will take firm action against anyone found disturbing the peace, as per the law.

Meanwhile, the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Operations, Area Commander Alagbado, along with other Divisional Police Officers within the Area Command, are currently on-site to prevent any further outbreak of violence.
