In a post on X, Ezekwesili decried the alarming increase in killings, describing Nigeria as a country marred by mass graves filled with the bodies of innocent children, youths, women, and men.
She emphasized the urgent need for a collective effort to address the crisis, stating, “There is a raging battle for the Soul of Nigeria, a country which has turned into a massive killing field and mass graves overrunning with the blood of innocent children, youth, women, and men brutally murdered, battered, or abducted without any consequence to the criminals.”
Ezekwesili called for a unified approach from all Nigerians, irrespective of differences, to acknowledge the dire situation and take decisive action.
She urged for a legally mandated National Conversation to redefine the value of human life and establish the core principles necessary to build a new Nigeria.
Drawing from history, Ezekwesili warned of the consequences when nations fail to uphold the sanctity of human life. She emphasized the critical juncture at which Nigeria finds itself and expressed optimism that with collective determination, the country can overcome its challenges and chart a new course towards a brighter future.
