Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has filed a fresh application for bail in the terrorism case brought against him by the Federal Government.
His new counsel, Alloy Ejimakor, presented the motion on February 5, 2024, citing Kanu’s deteriorating health, particularly his heart condition, as grounds for the request.
In response, the Federal Government’s legal team, led by Adegboyega Awomolo, is urging the court to dismiss the bail application.
They argue that the Department of State Services (DSS) has the necessary medical facilities to adequately care for Kanu, challenging the assertion that his health needs cannot be met within their facilities.
