Manchester United enjoyed a triumphant day as they clinched a crucial victory in their pursuit of European qualification, thanks to Rasmus Hojlund’s swift brace during a dynamic start against Luton Town.
Hojlund swiftly put the visitors ahead just 37 seconds into the game, before extending their lead six minutes later by deflecting Alejandro Garnacho’s shot into the net.
Although Luton showed improvement and managed to pull one goal back through Carlton Morris’ close-range header, they largely dominated the remainder of the match.
Despite Ross Barkley’s header striking the crossbar, Manchester United held firm to secure the win and reinforce their hold on sixth place.
Erik ten Hag’s team had several opportunities to widen their lead further, exploiting gaps in the Luton defense. However, Garnacho failed to capitalize on their best chance, while Hatters goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski made a series of impressive saves.
Following their second consecutive defeat, Luton remains in the fourth-bottom position, holding just a one-point advantage over the relegation zone.
