The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, has urged First Lady Oluremi Tinubu to directly inform President Bola Tinubu about the prevalent hunger and starvation gripping the nation.
During Tinubu’s visit to Kano to inaugurate the faculty of law at a private university, the emir stressed the significance of her role as a conduit for communicating the ground realities to the President. He emphasized that despite various channels available for conveying concerns to the government, her direct communication holds particular sway.
Highlighting the longstanding issue of hunger and starvation, the emir underscored the critical need for urgent attention from the authorities.
Furthermore, Bayero urged Tinubu to impress upon President Tinubu the urgency of addressing the escalating insecurity in the country. While acknowledging that insecurity predates the current administration, he emphasized the necessity for more robust measures to combat the threats effectively.
The emir also expressed concerns about the reported relocation of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and certain departments of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to Lagos. He called for transparency from the government on this matter to provide clarity and alleviate public uncertainty.
Additionally, Bayero encouraged the President’s wife to implement her Renewed Hope Initiative Pet Program, believing it to be a vital step toward empowering the less privileged and breaking the cycle of poverty.
