In anticipation of their semi-final encounter against South Africa’s Bafana Bafana, the Nigeria Super Eagles are brimming with motivation, evidenced by the recent allocation of N200 million ($142,454) by state governors in the country.
As per a press release from the Nigerian Ministry of Sports, Minister John Owan Enoh orchestrated the funding for the team. Enoh, a former senator in the Nigerian legislative branch, lauded the enthusiasm of Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, who also serves as the Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum.
The minister commended Governor Uzodimma and all members of the Forum for their prompt response after he discussed the importance of motivating the team ahead of the semi-final match against South Africa with the Forum Chairman.
Furthermore, he confirmed that the entire sum of two million naira has already been disbursed to the players by the Progressive Governors’ Forum.
