It was a day to forget for Mauricio Pochettino’s side as Matheus Cunha’s sensational hat-trick lifts Wolves above Chelsea in the Premier League standings.

Chelsea initially took the lead through Cole Palmer’s composed finish in the 19th minute, capitalizing on Moises Caicedo’s incisive pass.

However, Wolves quickly responded, equalizing less than three minutes later as Matheus Cunha’s strike deflected off Thiago Silva, leaving Djordje Petrovic stranded.

Before halftime, Wolves completed their turnaround as Rayan Ait-Nouri’s shot took a fortuitous deflection off Axel Disasi, finding the back of the net following Pedro Neto’s assist.

Despite Chelsea’s efforts to rally, they found themselves trailing by two goals when Neto’s blistering pace left Silva behind, setting up Cunha for his second of the night.

Cunha sealed his hat-trick from the penalty spot after being fouled by Malo Gusto, ensuring Wolves’ victory with eight minutes left on the clock. Silva’s late header provided Chelsea with a consolation goal.

This impressive victory saw Gary O’Neil’s Wolves climb to 10th place in the table, edging past Chelsea by one point and one position after 23 games.
