Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, credited his life’s achievements and political ascension to divine providence during a Sunday address.

Governor Fubara emphasized that his journey in politics began with divine intervention, highlighting how God influenced the leaders and members of his political party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to endorse him as their gubernatorial candidate, ultimately leading to his electoral victory.

Speaking at the 2024 Port Harcourt Holy Ghost Rally organized by the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), themed “Promotion for a Purpose,” held at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Governor Fubara personally connected with the theme, seeing it as a reflection of his own life story.

He expressed gratitude for the recognition of his journey through the rally’s theme, affirming that his promotion was indeed orchestrated by God through the support of his party and its leadership.

Acknowledging the presence of Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of RCCG, at the event, Governor Fubara extended his appreciation for the choice of Port Harcourt for the rally and for the blessings bestowed upon Rivers State by the RCCG at the start of each year.

Committing to continued governmental support for the success of the rally, Governor Fubara urged RCCG to pray for his administration’s effective governance.

Following the rally, Governor Fubara attended a service of thanksgiving at Saint Paul’s Anglican Church in his hometown of Opobo in Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Area. The service was to commemorate his victory at the Supreme Court and celebrate his 49th birthday anniversary.
