The Governor-Elect of Kogi State, Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo, has issued a heartfelt appeal to Nigerians, seeking their prayers as he prepares to assume office.
In his New Year message, Ododo conveyed a strong assurance to both Nigerians and Kogites, proclaiming that 2024 is destined to be a year of redemption. He urged the residents of Kogi State to join him in prayer as he steps into the significant role currently occupied by Governor Yahaya Bello, vowing to validate the trust placed in him.
Acknowledging the substantial challenge of succeeding Governor Yahaya Bello, whom he lauded as Kogi’s most outstanding governor, Ododo emphasized the formidable task of matching the commendable achievements of his predecessor. Despite this challenge, he expressed unwavering confidence that, with divine support, they will uphold and advance the trajectory of progress in the state.
Recognizing the groundwork laid by Governor Bello, Ododo committed to building upon the substantial achievements of the current administration in Kogi State. He underscored the determination to continue the positive momentum initiated by Governor Bello, emphasizing the importance of the solid foundation laid under his leadership.
In his call to Kogites, Ododo urged continued prayers for the prosperity of the state and the nation at large. Expressing optimism about the bright trajectory of the nation under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, he painted a hopeful picture of Nigeria’s future.
Shifting to the national level, Ododo commended President Tinubu’s strategic decision to implement the fuel subsidy removal policy, considering it the most beneficial for the nation’s economy. He applauded the President for concerted efforts in revitalizing the nation’s oil refineries. Predicting an economic resurgence from the second quarter of 2024, Ododo called on Nigerians to steadfastly support the administration’s initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of life. In his optimistic outlook, he foresaw 2024 as the year heralding Nigeria’s prominence on the global stage.
