In what was an emotional moment, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu extends heartfelt condolences to Mrs. Betty Akeredolu, the widow of the late Ondo State Governor, during a solemn visit to the Akeredolu residence in Ibadan.

Reflecting on the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu’s valiant battle for survival, Tinubu, in a statement through her media aide Busola Kukoyi, acknowledges the inevitable role of divine will in human existence.

In her consoling words, Tinubu notes the nation’s loss of one of its distinguished leaders, saying, “He did his best. God will be there for you; when God shows up for you, that is what really matters.” She offers prayers for God’s continued support for the grieving family.

Responding on behalf of the family, Oluwole Ayodeji Akeredolu, the late governor’s brother, expresses gratitude for the condolence visit, acknowledging the pain of the governor’s departure while finding comfort in the belief that he has found peace.

The entourage, including the wife of the Vice President, Nana Shettima, wives of members of the National Assembly, wives of state governors of Lagos and Ogun, the wife of the APC national chairman, and others, is recognized for their visit, described as a significant honor during this challenging time.
