NBA President, Yakubu Maikyau Mourns Akeredolu

Nigerian Bar Association President, Yakubu Maikyau, SAN, mourns the passing of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State, recognizing him as one of the NBA’s most influential and courageous presidents during his 2008-2010 tenure.

In an official statement, Maikyau expressed sorrow, stating, “It is with a heavy heart that I pay tribute to His Excellency, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN.” Akeredolu’s journey from Secretary and Vice Chair of the Ibadan Branch to the 24th President of the NBA showcased his impactful leadership. Maikyau also highlighted Akeredolu’s notable roles as Attorney General, Commissioner for Justice (1997-1999), and two-term Governor (2017 till his demise).

The late Senior Advocate’s contributions to Ondo State’s growth, including the establishment of the Amotekun regional security network, were hailed. This initiative, addressing regional security challenges, now stands as a noteworthy model for emulation in various regions.
