The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has vehemently denounced the Christmas Eve attacks on communities in Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi Local Government Areas of Plateau State, which resulted in a tragic loss of over a hundred lives and the destruction of numerous homes.
In a strongly worded statement, President Archbishop Daniel Okoh emphasized that this assault on the community represents a direct threat to the nation’s foundational values of peace, unity, and mutual respect.
Expressing deep sympathy, CAN stands with the affected families and communities and calls for the swift implementation of proactive security measures to prevent such heinous acts in the future. The association also urges the people of Plateau State to unite, offering support to the affected communities through the provision of relief materials and emphasizing the need for a peaceful and prosperous Nigeria.
