The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, has called on Nigerians to remain resilient and hopeful despite the challenging times citizens are going through as they celebrate Christmas.
Akpabio conveyed this message on Sunday in Abuja through his Christmas statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Eseme Eyiboh. He expressed optimism that the pains Nigerians are experiencing, caused by various socio-economic upheavals, will result in positive outcomes through the visionary development plans of the current national leadership.
He encouraged Christian believers to “pray and be hopeful because, with the birth of Jesus Christ, who is the symbol of hope, love, and redemption, Nigeria will also overcome its current challenges.”
Akpabio emphasized the importance of deep reflection on the teachings of Jesus Christ during Christmas, focusing on principles like love for neighbors, peaceful coexistence, and loyalty to constituted authorities. He extended sincere congratulations to all Christian brothers and sisters on the celebration of Christmas, urging them not only to rejoice but also to continue praying for Nigeria and its leaders.
The Senate president encouraged people not to lose faith in their leaders, particularly the current administration of President Bola Tinubu, expressing confidence that, with prayers and support, the government will bring relief to the citizens in the near future.
He concluded by highlighting the significance of Christmas as a time of hope, joy, and goodwill, emphasizing that Jesus Christ remains a beacon of hope in a world facing uncertainty, strife, and challenges.
