The Primate of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Archbishop Henry Ndukuba, has delivered a compelling message to President Bola Tinubu, urging him to inspire hope among the youth of Nigeria.
Speaking during a media chat in Abuja, the Primate expressed deep disappointment at the stark contrast between the widespread unemployment and illiteracy in the country and the ostentatious displays of wealth by Nigerian leaders.
He specifically criticized legislators in the House of Representatives and state legislatures, attributing the worsening unemployment situation to their practice of awarding contracts to themselves and their companies. According to the Primate, these legislators also play a role in determining recruitment opportunities in the police and other security agencies.
Ndukuba underscored the deeply rooted corruption within the nation, emphasizing the necessity of divine intervention to address systemic issues. He passionately appealed to leaders to prioritize the well-being of citizens by providing fundamental amenities, enhancing infrastructure, and ensuring security, emphasizing that Nigerians are not making unreasonable demands.
Additionally, Archbishop Ndukuba called upon President Tinubu to engage with the international community in a manner that places the welfare of Nigerians and the country’s interests at the forefront during international agreements and negotiations.
