Kano State APC Dismisses NNPP’s Allegations, Affirms Commitment to Legal Process

The Kano State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has categorically rejected what it deems baseless allegations by members of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) regarding an alleged deal to influence the forthcoming Supreme Court ruling on the contested governorship election in the state.

Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas, the Kano State APC Chairman, emphatically dismissed the purported agreement as a fabricated story initiated by NNPP members to generate false hope among their supporters amid ongoing political developments.

Abbas clarified that there had been no meetings or discussions involving President Bola Ahmed Tinubu or any party leaders concerning such an agreement. He underscored President Tinubu’s commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring justice, asserting that he would not partake in any arrangement undermining the electoral process.

In a press conference held in Abuja, Abbas reiterated the APC’s dedication to pursuing its case at the Supreme Court, expressing confidence in a favorable outcome based on compelling evidence presented during both the Tribunal and Appeal Court proceedings.

He reassured the public that Kano remains peaceful despite NNPP’s efforts to incite unrest, urging citizens to dismiss propaganda and remain calm. The APC Chairman pledged to maintain peace and unity among diverse ethnic groups in Kano, emphasizing the party’s commitment to a peaceful political atmosphere in the state.
