The Court of Appeal in Abuja has affirmed the electoral triumph of Governor Ahmed Aliyu in Sokoto State.
The court declared that the petitioner, Saidu Umar Ubandoma of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), failed to substantiate his allegations against Governor Aliyu in the case identified as CA/S/EP/GOV/SK/30/2023.
This decision follows the dismissal of Umar’s petition by the State Election Petitions Tribunal on September 30, 2023. The tribunal’s three-man panel resolved all six grounds of the petition in favor of Governor Aliyu, who belongs to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
