On November 15, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State paid a visit to the headquarters of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) in Abuja.
The visit, disclosed through a statement by Gombe State’s Director-General of Press Affairs, Ismaila Uba Misilli, saw the governor engaging in discussions with NITDA’s Director-General, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi.
The focal point of their discourse centered on fostering a stronger collaboration to advance digital literacy and e-governance initiatives in Gombe State. The overarching goal is to enhance administrative efficiency and elevate service delivery within the state.
A crucial facet of this collaborative effort involves prioritizing capacity building, with a specific focus on providing essential digital skills to numerous youths and women in Gombe through impactful training programs.
This meeting holds particular significance as Gombe State recently received recognition from NITDA as the ‘Most Digitally Compliant State’ during the Digital Nigeria Conference Dinner and Awards 2023. Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s leadership has ambitiously set a target to automate all government operations within the next four years, aligning Gombe with the national drive towards a more digitally inclined governance structure.
Notably, Gombe State, celebrated for its skilled workforce, proudly holds the prestigious title of the ‘Best State in Ease of Doing Business’ in Nigeria. The collaboration with NITDA is poised to not only amplify this standing but also to seamlessly integrate cutting-edge technology across diverse sectors, ensuring that Gombe continues to lead the charge in digital transformation nationwide.
