In a press conference held in Abuja, Ambassador Abdallah Shawesh, who represents Palestine in Nigeria, alleged that Israel is planning to expel Palestinian people to Egypt. This claim came in the wake of a rocket strike on a Christian-run Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza City, which resulted in the loss of many lives.
World leaders have condemned the incident, and protests have erupted in various Arab and Muslim countries. However, both the Israeli military and Palestinian militant groups have exchanged accusations regarding the strike.
Shawesh expressed his concerns about Western leaders supporting Israel’s actions and claimed that this was part of Israel’s plan to remove Palestinians from Gaza. He called for the international community to stand firm in support of international law, particularly international humanitarian and human rights law, without exceptions for Israel.
Additionally, Ambassador Shawesh stated that Palestine is willing to engage in dialogue with Israel to resolve their differences and achieve a two-state solution. When asked about the role of Hamas, he emphasized that resistance is a natural response to the Israeli occupation and that the Palestinian people are fighting against it collectively. He reiterated the call for a two-state solution, asserting that the West Bank, Jerusalem, and Gaza should belong to the Palestinian people.
