Nasarawa State House of Assembly Confirms Abubakar Akum as Commissioner During its recent session, the Nasarawa State House of Assembly officially endorsed Mr. Abubakar Akum as a commissioner and a new member of the state’s Executive Council.
This confirmation followed a motion put forth by the Majority Leader, Mohammed Omadefu (APC-Keana), and seconded by the Minority Leader, Luka Zhekaba (PDP-Obi 11).
Abubakar Akum’s appointment is in response to the vacancy created by the departure of Mr. Aliyu Ahmed, the former Commissioner for Local Government, Community Development, and Chieftaincy Affairs.
Mr. Ahmed left this position after accepting the role of Chief Executive Officer at the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI).
Speaker Mr. Ibrahim Abdullahi congratulated Mr. Akum on his new appointment and urged him to carry out his responsibilities with fairness and dedication.
The speaker stressed the importance of actively contributing to the state’s progress. He also instructed the House’s clerk to convey this resolution to Governor Abdullahi Sule for further action.
