In a statement signed by Kano State Commissioner of Information Hon. Baba Halilu Dantiye, it was revealed that the Kano State Government has become aware of videos circulating on social media.

These videos feature the State Commissioner of Land and Physical Planning, Alh. Adamu Aliyu Kibiya, making threatening remarks towards Tribunal Judges, and the Special Adviser on Youth and Sport, Alh. Yusuf Imam, making disrespectful comments about Vice President Alh. Kashim Shettima GCON.

We strongly condemn the unfortunate threats made against the Judges and the lack of respect displayed towards the Vice President. It is important to clarify that these views expressed in the videos do not represent the official position of the State Government under the leadership of His Excellency Alh. Abba Kabir Yusuf.

We would like to emphasize that neither of these two officials has the authority to speak on behalf of the government, nor do they hold the position of official government spokespersons.

Under the leadership of His Excellency Alh. Abba Kabir Yusuf, the Kano State Government holds the Judiciary in the highest regard and has immense respect for all justices and judicial officers.

Furthermore, there is a strong and positive relationship between the government, the people of Kano State, and Vice President Kashim Shettima. Governor Alh. Abba Kabir Yusuf deeply respects both the person and the office of Vice President His Excellency Alh. Kashim Shettima GCON and will not tolerate any form of disrespect towards the Vice President or any other Nigerian leader.

In light of these reasons, the Governor of Kano State has taken immediate action by relieving the two officials of their positions: Commissioner of Land and Physical Planning, Alh. Adamu A. Kibiya, and Special Adviser on Youth and Sport, Alh. Yusuf Imam.

Furthermore, the Kano State Government has issued a directive stating that no government official should comment on matters beyond the scope of their respective ministries without prior clearance and authorization. Going forward, statements that are disrespectful or inciteful will not be tolerated.

The Ministry of Information has been instructed to ensure that all media outlets in the state, particularly radio stations, strictly adhere to the guidelines provided by regulatory agencies.

While we maintain our faith in the judicial process and strongly believe that justice will prevail at all stages of legal proceedings, the Kano State Government calls upon all residents in the state to remain law-abiding and continue their daily activities without disruption.
