The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has issued a stern admonition to motorists, urging them to refrain from engaging in corrupt practices with its personnel.
Fredrick Ogidan, the commander of FRSC in Kwara State, delivered this cautionary message in Ilorin, the state’s capital. He unequivocally stated that individuals apprehended attempting to offer bribes to FRSC officials will be subjected to legal prosecution.
Ogidan also disclosed that during the first half of the year, a total of 42 individuals in the state were apprehended for attempting to grease the palms of road marshals. Instead of complying with the fines for their traffic violations, they opted for the path of corruption.
He underscored that the rules of engagement have evolved, and anyone caught making an illicit attempt to bribe FRSC officers on the road will find themselves facing legal consequences in court.
