After two weeks of speculation, the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal has officially confirmed Wednesday, September 6, as the definitive date for announcing the judgment in the three petitions challenging Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s declaration as the winner of the 2023 presidential election.
The Chief Registrar of the Court of Appeal, Umar Mohammed Bangari, confirmed this date on Monday. Bangari, whose court is hosting the Tribunal, assured that all necessary arrangements have been made to ensure a smooth and trouble-free delivery of the judgment for the three petitions.
These petitions were filed by the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Abubakar Atiku, his counterpart in the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, and the Allied Peoples Movement (APC).
Bangari also mentioned that stringent security measures have been put in place, and only invited members of political parties and the general public will be granted access to the courtroom to prevent overcrowding and security breaches.
