The Commandant in charge of the Zamfara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has called upon a group of artisans and craftsmen to share credible information with the Corps regarding the activities of vandals within the state.
Commandant Sani Mustapha delivered this message during a gathering with the Artisan and Craftsmen Empowerment Association in Zamfara State, held at the NSCDC State Command Headquarters in Gusau on August 30, 2023.
The leader of the Zamfara State NSCDC highlighted the significant role played by this group in empowering youth and engaging them in productive pursuits, which effectively reduces the rate of youth involvement in criminal acts. Consequently, he urged the artisans and craftsmen to act as responsible members of society by promptly reporting any suspected criminal activities perpetrated by unscrupulous elements to the relevant authorities.
Mustapha reassured the group of the Corps’ commitment to supporting their legitimate initiatives and activities.
Furthermore, in a separate development, Mr. Tukur Rabiu Abdullahi, the Chairman of the Trade Union, conveyed his thoughts through the Publicity Secretary. He expressed high regard for the Zamfara State Command of the NSCDC, recognizing the Corps’ oversight functions that encompass the monitoring of trade unions. Given this recognition, the union decided to pay a visit and extend their respect to Commandant Sani Mustapha, the head of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Zamfara State Command.
The union also sought the assistance of the Corps in their lawful activities. Mr. Abdullahi affirmed their dedication to ensuring that all members of the union uphold the law, and they pledged to provide any security-related information they possess to the Corps. This cooperative effort aims to contribute to curbing the escalating wave of insecurity in the state.
