The trio responsible for the glaring penalty oversight in favor of Manchester United against Wolves has been left out of the upcoming Premier League matches this weekend.
Referee Simon Hooper, VAR Michael Salisbury, and assistant VAR Richard West have been omitted from officiating duties after their decision not to award a penalty for the challenge on Sasa Kalajdzic by Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana.
Following the error, Wolves manager Gary O’Neil disclosed that he had received an apology from referees’ chief Jon Moss. In response to the mistake, the officials involved will not be assigned to any matches for the upcoming weekend fixtures.
