Festus Keyamo Offers Unreserved Apology to Senate for Disrespecting National Assembly

The former Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, has apologized to the Senate for disrespecting the National Assembly regarding the implementation of the special public works program.

The Senate confirmed 48 ministerial nominees in three batches, after an incident where Senator Darlington Nwokocha accused Keyamo of disrespecting the previous Assembly. The program aimed to employ 1,000 unskilled youths in each LGA for three months, providing a monthly stipend.

Keyamo apologized during a closed-door session and was allowed to leave after Senate President Akpabio’s approval.
