Delta State Police Intercept Concealed Ammunition Cache during Patrol

While conducting a visibility and confidence-building patrol, police officers affiliated with the Dragon Patrol team successfully retrieved a concealed cache of 250 live cartridges from a bag situated along the Benin/Asaba Expressway in the Iseele-Uku Community of Delta State. The bag’s owner, a 46-year-old male named Omoruyi Osemudiame, was apprehended by the police in connection with the discovery of the live cartridges.

Delta State Police Command, under the leadership of CP Wale Abass, confirmed the incident through a statement issued by DSP Bright Edafe, the Police Public Relations Officer. The statement reported that on August 3, 2023, at approximately 4:00 PM, police personnel intercepted a commercial Sienna vehicle and conducted a thorough search of the passengers and their belongings. During this search, law enforcement uncovered 250 live cartridges which had been concealed within a bag.

The individual identified as the bag’s owner, Omoruyi Osemudiame, a 46-year-old male, was promptly arrested and taken into custody. The statement also affirmed that ongoing investigations are in progress to delve further into the matter.
