In the wake of the nationwide protests that were held today, the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Joe Ajaero, and his counterpart from the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC), Festus Osifo, had a meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa on Wednesday.
Following their meeting, which lasted approximately 30 minutes and concluded at 5:38 pm, the labor leaders reported that President Tinubu made commitments to address urgent issues that demand immediate attention.
They expressed their intention to inform their respective executive committees about the meeting’s outcomes and decisions related to the ongoing protests. Furthermore, the Labour announced its plan to convene a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on Thursday, during which all the discussed issues will be thoroughly examined and considered.
