Nasarawa State Governor Submits List of 17 Commissioner Nominees for Assembly’s Review

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has forwarded a list of 17 commissioner nominees to the state House of Assembly for scrutiny and potential confirmation as members of the state executive council.

During an emergency session held in Lafia on Friday, the Speaker of the Assembly, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi, revealed the names of the nominees. Among them are Aishatu Rufai Ibrahim from Awe LGA; Umar Abubakar Dan’akano from Awe; Yakubu Kwanta from Akwanga; Munirat Abdullahi from Doma; Timothy Kasuwa from Karu; Margaret Elayo from Keana; Bala Mulki from Keffi; and John Mamman from Kokona.

The other nominees include Abubakar Imam Zanwa from Lafia; Aliyu Ahmed Tijjani from Nasarawa; Haruna Musa from Nassarawa Eggon; Muhammed Eyimoga from Obi; Labaran Magaji from Toto; Gaza Gwamna from Toto; Mu’azu Gosho from Wamba; Samuel Kafu Emgba from Lafia; and Ja’afaru Ango from Karu.

The speaker stressed the importance of selecting candidates based on their merits, integrity, prudence, and relevant experience. The nominees have been requested to submit 30 copies of their curriculum vitae to the Assembly by July 31, with screening scheduled for August 1.

In addition, the lawmakers have granted approval for the governor’s request to appoint 20 special advisers. This announcement was made during the same emergency session. The appointed advisers will play a crucial role in assisting the governor in implementing his administration’s policies.

The lawmakers expressed their commitment to effective collaboration with the executive arm to ensure rapid and comprehensive development throughout Nasarawa State.
