Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has advised the state’s residents against taking the law into their own hands and instead encouraged them to seek justice through proper constitutional channels. He made these remarks during the inauguration ceremony of two newly built Magistrate courts and reconstructed High courts in Oke Ado, Ogbomoso.

During the opening ceremony, Governor Makinde emphasized that justice is the cornerstone of a well-organized society and stressed the importance of equipping the judiciary to handle its significant responsibilities. He also highlighted the vital role of seamless cooperation among the three arms of government for effective governance and the benefit of society as a whole.

The governor urged the judiciary to set an incorruptible example for the younger generation. In her address, Chief Judge of Oyo State, Justice Iyabo Yerima, expressed her primary goal of restoring the judiciary to its rightful place in society.

Justice Yerima appreciated the establishment of the Ogbomoso Judicial Division and Ogbomoso Magisterial District, which will save the people from the inconvenience of traveling to the state capital, Ibadan, for court cases.

Furthermore, the Chairperson of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), Ogbomoso Branch, Mrs. Omotayo Olatunbosun, urged the Chief Judge to address the frequent redeployment of judges to the division, ensuring stability and continuity in the judicial system.
