First Lady Remi Tinubu Renames Women Development Center After Maryam Babangida

The national Women Development Center has been officially renamed as the Maryam Babangida National Center for Women Development, with the renaming ceremony conducted by the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu.

In her remarks, the First Lady acknowledged the remarkable contributions of the Former First Lady, Her Excellency Dr (Mrs) Maryam Babangida, to the lives of ordinary Nigerians, particularly those in rural areas, through her influential program, Better Life for Rural Dwellers.

Remi Tinubu described the late Dr (Mrs) Maryam Babangida as an inspirational figure who revolutionized women’s involvement in national progress through the National Center for Women Development (NCWD).

She expressed a sense of nostalgia as she had been present during the Ninth National Assembly when the bill for renaming the center was passed and enacted into law. Now, as the First Lady of the Federation, she is honored to perform the actual renaming ceremony.
