Bakari Reinstated as PDP Chairman in Taraba State as Court Ousts Incumbent

Inuwa Bakari, who was serving as the acting chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Taraba State, has been ordered by the Taraba State High Court to be immediately reinstated to his position. The court’s ruling, delivered by Justice Nuhu Adi, deemed the removal of Bakari by former governor Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku as unconstitutional. Consequently, the State’s Chairman of the PDP, Abubakar Bawa, was removed from office, and the judge instructed him to refrain from portraying himself as the party’s chairman. Bakari has expressed his intention to resume his duties as per the court’s directive and has urged PDP supporters to maintain calm and avoid actions that could fuel a crisis. This verdict follows the recent establishment of a committee by the state government to resolve the leadership dispute within the party.
