Tinubu Seeks N500 Billion for Palliatives Approval from National Assembly

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has submitted a letter to the National Assembly, requesting an amendment to the 2022 supplementary appropriation Act. The purpose of the amendment is to enable the Federal Government to access N500 billion for the provision of palliatives aimed at mitigating the impact of subsidy removal.

During Wednesday’s plenary, Speaker Tajudeen Abbas read the letter aloud on the floor of the House. According to the letter, the funds will be derived from the N819.5 billion allocated in the 2022 supplementary Appropriation Act.
