Former ASUU President, Dr. Dipo Fasina, Found Safe After Going Missing in Istanbul

A one time  National President of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Dr. Dipo Fasina, who went missing on July 1 in Istanbul, Turkey, has been located.

According to reports, he was found at Istanbul airport, where he had disappeared the previous Saturday. Dr. Fasina, widely known as ‘Jingo,’ had embarked on a trip to Algiers, Algeria, with a layover in Istanbul when he was reported missing.

With a teaching career spanning over three decades at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Dr. Fasina holds a Ph.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles. He serves as a trustee of ASUU and played a key role in establishing the Philosophy Department at the former Ogun State University, Ago Iwoye. Throughout his extensive tenure, he has taught Philosophy at various universities across Nigeria.
