The Kano state government has submitted a notice of withdrawal of a lawsuit filed before the Federal High Court in Kano against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The suit aimed to prevent the EFCC from further summoning, investigating, or interrogating Abdullahi Ganduje, the former Governor of Kano state.
Additionally, the Executive Chairman and Director of Finance of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), along with the Accountant General of Kano State, are set to provide testimony regarding the video clips containing allegations of bribery against the former Governor.
The notice of discontinuance, presented by Mrs. Amina Yusuf Yargaya, the Solicitor General of the Kano State Ministry for Justice, is based on Order 50 of the Federal High Court Civil Procedure Rules 2019, as amended.
