Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has taken a significant step by signing an Executive Order to restructure the state government ministries.
The restructuring reduces the number of ministries from 28 to 16, with the aim of addressing government wastage and eliminating redundant functions. According to Sulaiman Idris, the governor’s spokesperson, the Executive Order was signed in the Council Chambers of the Government House in Gusau, the state capital.
The restructured ministries now include Agriculture, Budget and Planning, Science and Technology, Environment and Natural Resources, Finance, Health, Commerce, Trade and Industry.
Additionally, there are ministries for Information and Culture, Justice, Housing and Urban Development, Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Religious Affairs, Women Affairs and Social Development, Works and Infrastructure, Youth and Sport, as well as Internal Security and Home Affairs.
This move reflects the governor’s commitment to streamlining governance and optimizing efficiency within the state administration.
