Nigeria’s ex-President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan is leading a mission on behalf of the West African Elders Forum (WAEF) for the upcoming 2023 election in Sierra Leone. The purpose of their visit to Freetown is to provide encouragement and support in ensuring a peaceful democratic transition ahead of the general election, which is scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 24.
Accompanying President Jonathan is former Burkinabe Prime Minister and former President of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), Kadre Ouedraogo, along with other members from the WAEF secretariat. The communication officer of the Goodluck Jonathan Foundation and the host of the WAEF secretariat, Wealth Dickson Ominabo, made this announcement through a released statement.
