President Bola Tinubu embarked on a trip to Paris, France, on Tuesday to attend a two-day summit on the New Global Financial Pact. Upon his arrival at 6:47 pm local time, Tinubu received a warm welcome from Ambassador Kayode Laro, Nigerian Embassy officials, and representatives from the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Earlier in the day, the Nigerian President departed from Abuja via the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport to participate in the event scheduled for June 22 and 23.
During his stay in Paris, Tinubu will join world leaders in evaluating and endorsing a New Global Financial Pact that prioritizes support and investment for vulnerable nations affected by climate change, the energy crisis, and the COVID-19 pandemic. The aim is to explore avenues for restoring financial stability in countries facing immediate economic challenges, particularly those burdened with high levels of debt.
Accompanied by members of the Presidential Policy Advisory Council and other government officials, President Tinubu is expected to return to Nigeria on Saturday.
