Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has administered the oath of office to a group of 35 newly appointed Commissioners.Â
In his address to the appointees, the Governor emphasized the need for innovation and strategic thinking in carrying out their responsibilities.
Additionally, the Chief of Staff, Professor Emmanuel Echiegu, and the Deputy Chief of Staff, Engineer Timothy Nwachi, were also sworn in, along with several Senior Assistants, Special Assistants, and Personal Assistants.
Governor Nwifuru urged the newly appointed officials to collaborate with him in bringing about positive transformation in the State. He made it clear that these appointments were not based on political favors and warned that his administration would not tolerate laziness or a lack of productivity.
Governor Nwifuru said: “As you all know, this is a call to serve, while I congratulate you, I implore you to take your duties seriously and I say it clearly, the appointments are not for political patronage.
“If I see lapses in your office, you are leaving the next minute and I can never call you back.
“Our State is very charged waiting for our leadership style and we must show them what we have for them and show them that we have the capacity to deliver.”
Expressing gratitude to the people of Ebonyi State for their patience, the Governor assured them that he would immediately embark on fulfilling his campaign pledges without delay.
“We are grateful to Ebonyians for their patience especially when it comes to environment and by the grace of God we will deliver.”
Representing the newly appointed officials, the Chief of Staff, Professor Emmanuel Echiegu, expressed gratitude to the Governor for deeming them qualified to serve and assured that they would diligently strive to validate the trust placed in them. He emphasized that these appointments were not based on political favors, highlighting the Governor’s warning against complacency.
“As you are all aware, this is a call to serve. While I congratulate you, I urge you to approach your responsibilities with utmost seriousness. Let it be clear that these appointments are not a result of political patronage.
“If I identify any shortcomings in your performance, you will be immediately replaced, and there will be no chance for a comeback.
“Our state eagerly anticipates our style of leadership, and we must demonstrate our capability to deliver and fulfill the expectations of our people.”
The Governor expressed gratitude to the people of Ebonyi State for their patience with his administration and reassured them of his determination to promptly commence the fulfillment of his campaign promises.
“We extend our appreciation to the people of Ebonyi State for their patience, particularly regarding environmental matters, and with the help of God, we will deliver on our commitments.”
On behalf of the newly appointed officials, the Chief of Staff, Professor Emmanuel Echiegu, conveyed his gratitude to the Governor for recognizing their worthiness to serve and pledged their unwavering dedication to justify the confidence entrusted in them.
