President Bola Tinubu Announces Eight Special Advisers in Recent Appointments

President Bola Tinubu has made several appointments, designating eight individuals as special advisers, as confirmed by Abiodun Oladunjoye, the State House Director of Information.

In a recent statement, Oladunjoye revealed the names of the appointed advisers and their respective areas of responsibility. Dele Alake has been appointed as the Special Adviser of Special Duties, Communications, and Strategy, while Yau Darazo assumes the role of Special Adviser on Political and Intergovernmental Affairs.

Nuhu Ribadu has been chosen as the Special Adviser on Security, and Wale Edun will serve as the Special Adviser on Monetary Policies. Olu Verheijen takes on the position of Special Adviser on Energy, and Zachaeus Adedeji has been appointed as the Special Adviser on Revenue. The remaining appointments include John Uwajumogu as the Special Adviser on Industry, Trade, and Investment, and Salma Anas as the Special Adviser on Health.

The statement explicitly states that these appointments are effective immediately. These recent appointments were initiated subsequent to the Senate’s approval of Tinubu’s request for 20 Special Advisers on June 6, 2023.

It is worth noting that on June 2, 2023, Tinubu had also named Femi Gbajabiamila, the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, as Chief of Staff, while Ibrahim Hadejia, a former Deputy Governor of Jigawa State, was appointed as Deputy Chief of Staff.

Moreover, George Akume, a former Governor of Benue State and the immediate past Minister of Special Duties, was designated as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
