President Tinubu Holds Meeting with EFCC Chairman Following Recent Controversy

President Bola Tinubu had a meeting with Abdulrasheed Bawa, the chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Wednesday afternoon.

While the specific purpose of the meeting is undisclosed, recent events may have played a role in its occurrence. Just a day prior, on Tuesday, the Department of State Services (DSS) operatives barricaded the EFCC office building in Lagos.

It is reported that one of the topics discussed during the meeting was the aforementioned incident at the EFCC office in Lagos. President Tinubu swiftly responded to the confrontation by instructing the DSS to withdraw their personnel and vehicles from the premises. He strongly emphasized the importance of peacefully resolving any misunderstandings between the two agencies.

According to a statement from Presidential spokesperson Tunde Rahman, President Tinubu directed the DSS to vacate the EFCC office in Ikoyi, Lagos, upon being informed about the siege. The President’s stance was focused on finding an amicable resolution to any issues that arose between these significant government entities.
