The request for live coverage of court proceedings in the case brought by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Labour Party (LP) has been dismissed by Justice Haruna Tsammani, the Chairman of the Presidential Election Petition Court. During the proceedings held in Abuja on Monday, Justice Tsammani stated that the application lacked merit.

On May 8, the presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar, had filed an application seeking permission for live coverage of the daily court proceedings concerning the case against President-elect Bola Tinubu, following the February 25 election.

The Labour Party (LP) and its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, also filed a similar application, requesting that the tribunal proceedings be televised.

However, a week later, Tinubu opposed the application for live broadcast, arguing that it constituted an abuse of the court process.
