Nigeria Police Trust Fund Trains 100 Officers on Public Order Policing in Adamawa State

The Nigeria Police Trust Fund (NPTF) has organized a two-day training on public order policing and crowd management for 100 police officers in Adamawa State. The event was opened by Mr. Salihu Abubakar, the Special Assistant to the Executive Secretary of the PTF, who stated that the training is part of the Fund’s effort to improve the efficiency of the police force in maintaining law and order and protecting lives and property of citizens.

Abubakar further revealed that 8,000 police personnel across the country would benefit from the exercise, bringing the total number of trained personnel since the inception of the NPTF to 5,000. He also stated that the Adamawa State command is one of the beneficiaries of the 28 new divisions with fully equipped barracks, including Close Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras and solar power, for optimal performance.

In addition, Abubakar said that 209 Buffalo trucks, 57 divisional police offices, and 14 barracks would be renovated and handed over to the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), while weapons tracking system and housing would be made available for the police.

He also mentioned that the NPTF has rehabilitated eight police training schools and colleges in various states and constructed 12 new four-man rural force headquarters in 12 state commands across the country.
