It was a night to forget for Manchester United as they suffer a blow to their top-four ambitions courtesy of David de Gea’s howler.
The match later ended 1-0 in favour of West Ham United. De Gea’s error allowed Said Benrahma’s weak shot to slip through his hands, giving the Hammers the lead in the first half.
Despite creating some chances, United were unable to find an equalizer, with substitute Anthony Martial coming closest in stoppage time but his effort was saved by Lukasz Fabianski.
The loss leaves United one point ahead of Liverpool in fifth place and three points behind Leicester City in third.
