Liverpool boosted their chances of qualifying for the next season’s Champions League after defeating Fulham, with Mohamed Salah’s remarkable scoring run at Anfield helping secure the win.

Salah’s eighth consecutive home goal was instrumental in Liverpool securing their fifth consecutive victory in the Premier League and maintaining their recent good form towards the end of the season.

The Egyptian forward converted a penalty in the 39th minute following a foul on Darwin Nunez by Issa Diop. Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson made a crucial one-handed save in the 77th minute to deny Carlos Vinicius and preserve the Reds’ lead.

Despite creating several opportunities during the game, Liverpool was unable to add to their lead, with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Luis Diaz among their standout performers.

Jurgen Klopp’s side currently sits in fifth place in the Premier League table, four points behind fourth-placed Manchester United, who still have two games in hand, including one against Brighton on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Fulham, despite the loss, remains on course to achieve their best top-10 Premier League finish since the 2011-12 season.
